Air Suspension lifts

Air Suspension lifts

I get a lot of questions regarding the air lift links and the 15-20mm lift heights.  They come preset to give you ~15mm front and ~20mm at the rear.

Why only so little lift?  Why cant we adjust them to give you 25mm or more?

Well you could, but not without a list of issues.

The air suspension on these cars gives you an amazing amount of static lift in the high and extreme high settings.  But what a lot of people find is the speed limits reduce the height down at 80kmh and 40kmh which is a pain trying to get that little bit of clearance when you're driving on sand in the ruts.  These links merely trick the sensor into raising the car 15-20mm higher than normal.  That means at every level its 15-20mm higher.  However the full bump and full droop limits are the same.  This poses a problem if the airbag is trying to lift the car in the extreme high setting, and the struts are fully extended, the result is not good.  So you'd never be able to use that setting for fear of destroying an airbag.

So this is perfect compromise of increased limit, and reliability,  with my own 958 S,  these links and a set of legal 265 65 18 added a nice 50mm extra clearance under the car at all settings, plus is nearly unnoticeable on the road in the lower or normal driving positions.

Happy 4 wheeling
